Mirror
By
Lil Wayne featuring Bruno Mars
Verse
1 (Lil Wayne)
With
everything happening today
You
don't know whether you're coming or going
But you think that you're on your way
Life
lined up on the mirror don't blow it
Look
at me when I'm talking to you
You
looking at me but I'm looking through you
I
see the blood in your eyes
I
see the love in disguise
I
see the pain hidden in your pride
I
see you're not satisfied
And
I don't see nobody else
I
see myself I'm looking at the
Chorus
(Bruno Mars)
Mirror
on the wall, here we are again
Through
my rise and fall
You've
been my only friend
You
told me that they can understand the man
I am
So
why are we here talking to each other again
Verse
2 (Lil Wayne)
Oh,
I see the truth in your lies
I
see nobody by your side
but
I'm with you when you're all alone
And
you correct me when I'm looking wrong
I
see that guilt beneath the shame
I
see your soul through your window pain
I
see the scars that remain
I
see you Wayne, I'm looking at the ...
Chorus (Bruno Mars)
Verse
3 (Lil Wayne)
Looking
at me now I can see my past
Damn
I look just like my dad
Light*
up, that's smokin' mirrors
I
even look good in the broken mirror
I
see my momma smile that's a blessing
I
see the change, I see the message
And
no message could been any clearer
So
I'm stared with the man in the ...

Youthlink:
What do you think about the concept behind
Lil Wayne's song, 'Mirror'?
Bryan:
Well, honestly, I'm a bit relieved. This
isn't the typical rap song, as it has a
very strong message. One which promotes
change, more specifically 'self- change'.
I really like it, it inspires me to look
within myself and try to find what qualities
I need to change to become a better person.
If
you were given the opportunity to speak
with Lil Wayne on any matter, what would
it be about and why?
I'd
speak to him about his lyrical content.
Lil Wayne needs to realise that a wide cross
section of people listen to his music as
well as look up to him, therefore, he needs
not include violent lyrics. Instead, he
should continue to make songs that are more
uplifting.

Youthlink:
Who has had the greatest impact on your
life?
Dominique:
Easy, I don't even have to think twice.
My parents have had the greatest impact
on my life. They're the best parents anyone
could ever ask for. They've taught me so
many life lessons for which I'll forever
be grateful.
If
you were given the opportunity to create
a music video for this song, what would
be the concept behind it?
Wow
... this question is so much harder than
the first one (laughs). Well ... naturally
I'd play on the lyrics so that when watching
this video, people will not easily be confused.
I'd probably have Lil Wayne in a bedroom
of a mansion looking into a mirror and seeing
his life in retrospect ... seeing his father
being a 'dead-beat' dad and stuff along
that line. I'd end with a scene showing
his future and him being a better father
to his own children.
