'Reneka
broke my heart'
Ricardo Campbell, Youthlink Writer
by
Jevarne Beckford
I
remained calm but only for love's sake.
Deep
down I suffer from a terrible heartbreak.
The
containment of my heart was so full it cracked,
In
the relationship, trust like slaves was
packed.
Loyalty
was the cord that embraced my circumference.
Integrity,
my square tangents, my impermeable fence.
My
heart became so full of her that it got
too heavy to carry,
But
though her weight broke my heart, I'm really
not sorry.
A
heartbreak is denied, shunned and most times
rejected,
But
think it not that I am insane; by affection,
I have been injected.
My
heart is leaking and happy memories are
dripping out,
My
atrium is being pressured as passion is
flashing about.
Some
sincerity has been exposed and is clotting
by air,
Jealousy
is spewing out but I don't care.
I
defy the odds and live with a heartbreak
I love.
The
release is like a mental orgasm with wings
like dove.

I
must say it is the best I've read in a while
so it is a 5 for me. I had to read it a
second time around, without a doubt, as
the writer clearly poured his heart out
at the impact of his affection for this
girl. This heartbreak wasn't the usual that
would be expected, the irony was so clear
as his unyielding affection towards this
girl is amazing, and it shows guys can really
be hurt from relationships, not only girls.

I
choose # 4 because it was a good read, something
I would probably read again. To me, it has
a compassionate style and the expressions
are quite intense. Correspondingly, it is
evident that the writer is expressing himself
about a particular female whom he admires
immensely, possibly because of her physical
appearance, honesty, sincerity and mutual
love which he shared with his counterpart.

I
choose #4 because it was actually a good
read and I enjoyed it. It brings out an
interesting irony of experiencing heartbreak
but in the sense that his heart is so full
of love for his lover that his heart cracks.
The expressions portray a relationship governed
by loyalty on the writer's part. His expressions
of personification are endearing and explain
how deeply he feels for his lover.
